Summer came to America because her parents wanted her to get a higher level of education and ultimately become a doctor to take over the family business, but Summer always wanted to become an investigative journalist. Summer decides to follow her passion, without her father’s approval, and agrees to a ‘fake marriage’ with Veer to try and help his cause. Local Hire only or willing to work as a local hire.
[MARK] LEAD
Male, mid 30s, white.
Mark is Summer’s boyfriend and work partner. Mark is a know it-all, confident, devilishly handsome, and knows what he wants. Mark takes charge of every situation and jumps in, headfirst.
[MR. LI] LEAD
Male, 50s-60s, Chinese or Chinese American. Proficiency in Mandarin required.
Mr. Li is Summer’s father. He went to a prestigious medical school in America but returned to China to join the family business. He is a well-respected member of his community and deeply cares about his culture and family traditions. With Summer being his only child, he was always strict with her and wanted her to excel in everything she does. Local Hire only or willing to work as a local hire.
[MRS. ZHENG] LEAD
Female, 50s-60s, Chinese or Chinese American. Proficiency in Mandarin required.
Mrs. Zheng is Summer’s mother. Mrs. Zheng plays a balancing act between Mr. Li and Summer wherever they butt heads. And when she puts her foot down, it’s game over no matter what. Local Hire only or willing to work as a local hire.

Male, mid to late 40s, Russian.
Victor is the head of the Russian Mafia. He is ruthless, but a man of his word. Victor is the head of the Mafia after his parents were gunned down. Now, he is trying to make a name for himself.
