Shakespeare Theater Auditions for “Henry V” - New Haven Connecticut

Elm Shakespeare Company, now in its 25th season, is known for producing professional theater in association with Actors’ Equity Association and innovative educational programs with students ages 7-70 from widely diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

-We hire approximately 16-20 performers each summer and are always looking for talented, committed teaching artists year-round.

Performance Contracts Each summer, ESC’s free Shakespeare in the park is produced outdoors in New Haven’s historic Edgerton Park each year with a cast of approximately 20 made up of union and non-union professionals along with a selection of students, performing for 20,000 people over 16 performances. The 2020 Shakespeare in the Park production is not publicly announced at this time, the show will follow the following production schedule:

Rehearsals: Tuesday-Sunday starting July 28

Performances: Tuesday-Sunday, August 20-September 6

What we are Seeking ESC looks for classically-trained actors who also are strong singers and musicians. Our actors will be playing and singing music before and during the summer production. Musical ability is not, however, a requirement for employment.

We look for actors of all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities. We frequently cast women as male characters and sometimes men as female characters. We cast actors of color in any/all roles, and strive for our casts to accurately reflect the wide diversity of the community for which we perform.
